Love Won Once... Love Will Win Again

Meet the new and improved Michelle Shocked, in full and complete denial about her racist and anti-gay invectives. The whole world is roses and kitty-cats to the new and improved Michelle Shocked. Remember how the old Michelle Shocked ascribed Facebook as part of the "Big Data" cabal out to get her? The new and improved Michelle Shocked has no memory of that. In fact, all the conspiracy theories have been repressed deep down (but only for the moment... the sick fucking psycho never stays lucid very long... her latest "album" is proof of that).

She's enlisted the help of another poor stooge, this one named Martin Stephenson; he's one of those ill-informed optimists who is blind to the reality of all the hate Michelle Shocked has inflicted over the last year and a half. As has been the case with everyone who tried to help Michelle Shocked, she will turn on him and he will regret the day he met her. In the meantime, he seems hell-bent to drag his band, The Daintees, into the muck, risking his own career by aligning it with Michelle Shocked's. He is free to do so. As you are free to write to the venues that have allegedly booked Michelle Shocked and urge them to cancel any booking that wrongly includes a bigot\homophobe who is prone to verbal attacks, threats of violence, and other psychotic breaks, on stage, off stage, and online.

Here's the list so far... let's remind Michelle that she already lost and love will always win:

La perra está de vuelta ...

Michelle Shocked has returned to Twitter, still bitching about people allegedly stealing her intellectual property, and still making threats and childish insults. The biggest insult of all? She's claiming to be a Latina. Here's a brief recap of some of her recent lunacy:

Michelle outs herself, so to speak. Lending her real name to her crackpot theories harms her cause.

Her Spanish could use some work. And her brain could use some therapy.

Back to the conspiracy theories again. Big tech and big banks didn't destroy her career. Her hate speech destroyed her career.

Michelle is again equating IP theft to rape. Sick fucking psycho.

When she cannot reason her way out of an argument, she declares a holy war.

And a violent threat to cap it all off.

All shades of Michelle's suspended social media past

If you want to act, report the bitch to Twitter Support. Remind them she's already been suspended multiple times for previous threats and cyberbullying. Remind Michelle that #LoveWon and #MichelleLost.

Who am I? Who the fuck are you?

Since Michelle Shocked sabotaged her career over a year ago, she has continuously attempted to cast blame everywhere but on herself. She blamed the audience at Yoshi's for not understanding that when she told them to tweet "God hates f*ggots," she didn't mean it, even though she also firmly stated she shared the beliefs of the homophobes who thought gay marriage would bring about the rapture. She blamed those who leaked the recording of her hate speech online, as well as the journalists who reported the story, accusing them of manufacturing it and partaking in a conspiracy, as if they forced her to shout hate speech at her audience. She blamed Google for refusing to take down clips of her hate speech, believing hate speech to be "intellectual property." She blamed club owners who cancelled her appearances, because she didn't understand why they wouldn't want hate speech shouted on their stage. She blamed individuals on Twitter who questioned her continued use of hate speech against homosexuals, Native Americans, African Americans, Jews, and others. She blamed "professional homosexuals" for being outraged at her anti-gay hate speech, because I suppose she assumed they'd hug her when she called them f*gs. She blamed the city of San Francisco, she blamed artists and bands hired to fill in after her gigs were cancelled, and she blamed random people, many of whom barely knew who Michelle Shocked was.

I know there are others she blamed who I am forgetting. There are too many to remember. Her most recent exploits have her on an online fishing expedition, trying to uncover the identities of people like me on Twitter, openly begging members of her email list to spy on her behalf, filing fraudulent complaints (dismissed) naming multiple innocent people, linking to other innocent people on the messages she posts, throwing shit onto the wall in the hope something will stick and she will have somebody new to blame.

What she continues to fail to grasp is that the identities of Twitter avatars do not matter. My name could be Kevin, Sharon, Tina Ann, Anile, Elise, Shorty, Marc, Steve, Cheryl, Liz, Chris, or Jesus H. Christ. My identity doesn't change Michelle Shocked's hate speech. But as long as she continues fishing for names of people to threaten, troll, bully, and harass, here are a few she can add to her list. These people are helping Michelle to damage her career and reputation:

Perrin Blackman - This clueless woman is basically Michelle's stooge. If I had to guess, Perrin knows deep down how full of shit Michelle really is, but is too wrapped up in figurative (or literal) star fucking to say so publicly. Instead, she operates as Michelle's mouthpiece. Michelle can never recover as long as Perrin is at her side.

Jeff Bruce Cohn - The only phrase that applies to Jeff Bruce Cohn is sick fucking psycho. He believes whatever Michelle says is gospel. If she blames a reporter, he turns around and threatens the reporter's child. If she blames a man, he threatens physical violence or murder. If she blames a woman, he threatens rape. Michelle knows this and feeds into his inner demons, which in turn feeds her own demons.

Karen Michelle Johnston - Karen had the sort of childhood I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. I can't fathom the pain she experienced or the cruelty she endured, but none of what happened to her when she was young can excuse any bad behavior she exhibits as an adult. If Michelle Shocked is looking for someone to blame, look no further.

Michelle is content to allow her attack dogs to keep trolling and threatening others on her behalf. She thinks that is a workable solution to her problems. She thinks uncovering my identity will restore her career. If she wasn't continuously targeting innocent people, I'd be content to allow her to continue, because the longer she wastes time on me, the worse her chances are of ever restoring her career. But I'd like to propose an alternate strategy for Michelle Shocked:

Instead of blaming others, produce some music. You claim to be a musician... go make music. People were drawn to Anchorage and other songs because they evoked a tone and a style that resonated. Find that part of yourself again. Whatever hatred you feel against gays or all the other people you feel have wronged you, shift your passion back to your music. Your music established you, and only when you stopped singing did your career suffer. Speaking as myself, or as my avatar if you prefer, I have no interest in hearing you sing, but I have less interest in seeing you continuing to target innocent people, either directly or through surrogates. Go make music Michelle. Forget about who I am, because we both know I'm not your problem. Stop the bullshit and sing.

One month away from Twitter

Thirteen months ago, Michelle Shocked stood on a stage and fucked up her career. A year to the day, after cataloging and archiving her online decline, I closed my Twitter account. In a public blog post (and in several Tweets), Michelle accused me of being some sort of ringleader in an elaborate conspiracy against her. She thought her former fans were the cause of all her problems, when any idiot could see Michelle fucked up her own life. I've been away for a month, most of her detractors haven't mentioned her, but her problems continue.

After a monthlong break from Twitter, not much seems to have changed. Michelle Shocked is still in the toilet. Quad is still trying to fuck a badger. Jeff Bruce Cohn is still a sick fucking psycho desperately stalking potential victims online. Perrin Blackman still works at the University of Kansas, despite having had her Twitter account suspended for threats and bigoted remarks (which is cause for her immediate termination).

It does appear that Michelle Shocked tried to file some sort of lawsuit against her critics, but that seems to have fizzled out as quickly as her career. In a message she sent to her mailing list, she stated her intention to sing at a dive bar\restaurant, but nobody seems to have posted any evidence that she followed through on her threat... I mean... promise. Just as her UK tour took place entirely inside her twisted mind (which was holed up in her LA apartment), I wouldn't believe anything she says without evidence from a more reliable person.

I'd like to think the Twitter absence has been time for Michelle Shocked to reflect on her past words and actions, but the lame lawsuit proves otherwise. She's not done finger-pointing and name-calling yet. I suspect she's building to something so pathetic even Miley Cyrus would cringe. But I would welcome being proven wrong. I'd welcome a Karen Johnston more contrite and humbled... it just isn't likely.

Regardless, if you are cyberbullied by a bigot or a racist or a homophobe, know your rights. Report them, not just to the social media network you use, but to law enforcement. And if you see it happen to others, step in, speak up, and don't allow the thugs to win. The Federal government's anti-bullying website recommends keeping a record... that's why this blog remains. Don't ever forget...

What a difference a year makes...

What would it have taken for Michelle Shocked to have walked back her hateful and offensive words? The fan backlash was instant, but she wouldn't give in. No expressions of shame or regret. Instead, childish responses, accusations, and insults.

What is most shocking? She actually got worse as the year dragged on.

Now she's encouraging people to spy on her behalf, to stalk her critics so she can threaten and browbeat them IRL, then she wonders why she can't get a paid gig anymore!

Keep it up, world.

Michelle Shocked is Karen Michelle Johnston again

A year to the day since Michelle Shocked spoke out against homosexuality in San Francisco. A month to the day since her Twitter account (@mshocked) was suspended. She devoted the last year to defending her freedom of speech, never realizing that if you can publicly complain on social media about not being about to publicly complain, your freedoms are intact. She devoted the last year to rallying about artist's rights, never realizing that hate speech is not artistic. She devoted the last year to ascribing blame to anyone and everyone except the face she saw when she gazed into a looking glass, never realizing the buck stops with her.

What Michelle really didn't realize is that freedom of speech has to include the freedom of people to speak against hatred and intolerance, especially when proudly displayed on a stage or on social media. If she had bothered to question what inside herself moved her to lash out at everyone, this might have been the best year of her life.

Countless people spoke out, petitioned, boycotted, and protested -- those are the heroes of this saga. Club owners made lemons into lemonade by using Shocked's canceled tour dates as days to promote peace and love for all. Other celebrities took to social media to oppose the bullying of gays by the born again religious right. Journalists put ink to paper to report on the scourge of religious zealots who try to deny the freedoms of others, then absurdly complain their rights are being denied. Ordinary men and women, gay and straight, championed love over hate. Those are the good guys. Those are the people worthy of praise and respect.

The persona embodied in the stage name Michelle Shocked is over. She's just plain ol' Karen Michelle Johnston again. Private figures such as Ms. Johnston have every right to their inner hatreds, provided they don't try to stand on a stage and bully others into agreeing with them. But if she tries to con another venue owner or club manager into booking a hatemonger instead of a musician, I will speak out in opposition to her. What she thinks and feels in private is between her and whatever god she pretends to believe in. Nobody else should ever be subjected to her bullying, online, on stage, or on the street.

I'd like to conclude by signing my real name, but I cannot. As the evidence contained on this blog indicates, there are other bullies and trolls out there who will threaten and harass opponents of hate and intolerance. That is perhaps Michelle's only victory in this, that she has created a legacy for herself of openly hateful thugs and bigots who verbally attack and even threaten physical violence against those who stand up for love. That seems, to me, a hollow and empty victory. In every other respect, Michelle is a loser.

Michelle Shocked lost, and this blog stands as a reminder of why she lost and what she lost.

Love is winning all over

Back when Michelle Shocked wasn't suspended from Twitter for trolling, spamming, threatening, and verbally abusing others, she'd sometimes end an especially nasty tweet with the hashtag #lovewins. I saw it as ironic. I vowed I'd retake the hashtag and use #lovewins anytime a victory was scored for the home team... the good guys and gals... the people Michelle often bullied.
Today, February 26th, 2014, has been a good day for love. AZ Gov. Jan Brewer vetoed a sinister bill designed to prevent people from suing if they are openly discriminated against. Elsewhere, a judge struck down a Texas law that banned same-sex marriage. More than that, staunch conservatives came out in support of the veto in Arizona. While some argue their opposition to the bill was based more on economics than a desire to reverse the state's anti-gay stance, that's how changes like this occur.
In 1957 one of the top rated shows in the history of television was cancelled because the network was unable to secure a sponsor. The reason: The host was African-American. In those days, it was financially unwise to align a product or service with a black man, even one as talented, successful, and adored as Nat King Cole. Advertisers refused to sponsor his program despite having millions of viewers across America. There was no money in supporting diversity. Times change. Thank God for that.

This week the first openly gay NBA player took to the court. The NFL is likely to draft its first ever openly gay player into the league. And as the NFL joined in the opposition to the Arizona bill, that they did so for economic reasons... is still a win for love. It is a win because we now live in an era when it makes economic sense to support human rights for all. This week might one day be remembered as a turning point in mankind's social\cultural evolution.

We are judging people by the content of their character. We don't judge them based on who they love -- we judge them on their capacity to love and be loved. It now makes good business sense to open your doors to the world, and civilization becomes more civil when we reject those who want to deny freedoms and liberties.

Just as there is fiscal economics, there is also social economics, and today we had a run on both markets. We invested in the future, and we guaranteed continued growth and change. It is now officially profitable to be kind and loving to all.

The evils of Twitter

A fair complaint has been waged that this blog requires a certain context to fully understand it, that without the context it can be confusing. I direct your attention to the authors listed down the right-hand column of this blog for some of the backstory involving Michelle Shocked. But part of the reason this blog lacks context is precisely why this blog was created.

Michelle and her cyberbullies delete their hate speech shortly after posting it to avoid account suspension. It doesn't work, as evidenced by Michelle's multiple account suspensions, as well as scores of suspensions of her smattering of thugs. I began this blog to parse the divide between the public record and what has been deleted from the internet. This blog is the context for what you may see elsewhere, not the other way around. Nevertheless, here is some context for the context:

I started using Twitter shortly after Michelle Shocked's anti-gay outburst at Yoshi's. A friend told me she was continuing to speak out and interact on Twitter, and as a disappointed fan I wanted answers... an apology... something that would make me continue to like her. I was in for more disappointment.

Those of us who tried to be critical of what Michelle said were verbally attacked by a small, militant group of defenders. They were who you'd expect to rise to the defense of gaybashing: Right-wing extremists, homophobes, conspiracy theorists, and a few sad sacks who just wanted attention from a minor celebrity.

In the first few weeks and months following her Yoshi's gig, most people reacted by begging Michelle to get psychiatric help, assuming she'd had (and was continuing to experience) some sort of breakdown. Michelle and her thugs were relentless, however, and they threatened and insulted anyone and everyone who didn't bask in Michelle's glow.

I have an aggressive nature and when someone pushes me I push back. Another fair complaint has been waged that sometimes I push too far. I don't believe in a proportional response. If you are going to post repeated attacks against myself and others, you should not expect a timid reply from me. Nor should you expect me to allow you to continue to bully and harass others until they have to either make their account private or delete them altogether out of fear. All this began when people spoke out against Michelle's verbal attacks and condemnations of the gay community. Gay and straight people rallied to ensure her hate speech could find no home on a stage in front of a paid audience. In the aftermath, I exist to combat the insults and the bullying.

But that's only the beginning of the story. Nearly a year since Yoshi's, Michelle (along with Quad, Perrin, Jaimito, and Jeff) continue to openly target people, many private figures who have moved on with their lives. And lately Michelle and her gang of tools tried exactly what many of us suspected, to create a false version of events to whitewash what she said and why she said it.

Twitter's terms of use is fine with brazen lies. Accounts can't be suspended or deleted because users refuse to tell the truth, and absent someone vocally representing the truth, those lies could start to be believed. That's where this blog comes into play. I had tried maintaining a Twitter feed that did nothing other than repost exact quotes from Michelle Shocked. Ironically, it was suspended long before Michelle's actual account, because apparently she could abuse others, but I couldn't maintain a Twitter record of that abuse. Google\Blogger is more understanding.

I encourage new readers of this blog to go back to the first post containing the exact words spoken at Yoshi's that caused such offense, then work your way back to this post. If you do, the context becomes clearer, as does the reason for my very vocal opposition of Michelle Shocked. I surprised myself by finding many good people on Twitter who I've grown to like and respect, but that doesn't mean the evils of Twitter don't exist. Someone else recently pointed out that in the ever-changing world of social media, Facebook and Twitter are starting to look like fossils. They are hemorrhaging users. In order to keep their stock prices as high as possible, they have to keep as many active accounts as they can. Twitter needs every user it can get, even the ones who make threats and post hate speech. That leaves it up to the rest of us to keep those bullies in check.

My approach and my choice of words are not pretty. I am definitely NSFW. But I fail to see the point in treading lightly in the face of evil. Not only do I work to get bullies off Twitter, but I recently claimed one of the bully's suspended accounts and made it my own. Perrin Blackman openly threatened me using her @FreestateKansas Twitter account, but now it is mine, the spoils of victory against cyberbullying. Because bullies shouldn't lose a little bit... they need to lose it all. It is the only way to stop them. Evil has to lose. Love has to win.

What do you want Michelle?

You and your gang of thugs threaten others.
You and your gang of thugs crave attention.
You and your gang of thugs insult others.
You and your gang of thugs try to steal the spotlight from others.
You and your gang of thugs engage in cyberbullying and IRL stalking.
You and your gang of thugs spread hate.
You and your gang of thugs make no apologies for the hurt you have caused.
You and your gang of thugs make no apologies for the pain you have caused.
You and your gang of thugs make no apologies for the misery you've caused.

You lie.

You deceive.

You hate.

Why?

What do you want Michelle?

It isn't a microphone. If what you really wanted was to perform again, you could be focusing your energy to that goal instead of trying to ruin other people's lives. It isn't to be left alone, either, since you go out of your way to provoke and offend others. You don't champion human rights. You don't champion religious freedom. Your only cause is your own ego, so what would satiate your ego? What would it take to put an end to your bullying?

Answer the fucking question you sociopathic bitch. Because I'm sick of your bullshit.

"Laugh riot" of the day

Reading the latest conspiratorial rantings found on Perrin Blackman and Michelle Shocked's blog - this time centered around me - all I can do is laugh in the face of their mania.

I'd like to say to whomever is supposedly paying me, you're ten months late. And considering Michelle Shocked's attack dogs have repeatedly threatened to rape me, I'm going to want a raise.

Of course, the real reason Michelle Shocked launched another online attack\tirade is because yet another of her proposed tours has been canceled. Since the United States has rejected her as a nation, she tried to locate remote clubs in the UK who either hadn't heard of her or hadn't heard of the controversy she surrounded herself in last year. Michelle hoped they'd be desperate enough to book what they assumed was a known act from across the pond. Though a few clubs bought into her lies, once they saw through her bullshit they eventually all backed out.

Michelle lost her entire US tour in March after what transpired at Yoshi's, and her European tour was lost shortly thereafter (Michelle concocted a series of elaborate lies on Twitter at the time, pretending she was overseas when she was really posting from her home... it was one of the most pathetic things I've ever witnessed on Twitter). She's now lost a third tour, this time in the United Kingdom. I can only assume she plans to visit Russia next.

I can forgive Michelle's petulant words and antics towards me. Internally, she desperately needs to blame others for her own failings. I'm just one of a long line of individuals. When she runs out of other people to blame, maybe she will finally see who is really at fault in her life. Until then, love continues to triumph over hate, and that is reason to celebrate.

Since according to Michelle Shocked I am your leader and you all do my bidding, here are my instructions for you: Try to find a reason to laugh today. Laugh in the face of a bigot. Laugh in the face of a homophobe. They are small-minded dolts who don't deserve to be taken seriously. Mock their ignorance and stupidity. They are on the losing side of history, as has been proven time and time again in recent years. We have laughed "the world's greatest homophobe" off the stage, literally. We exposed her bullying tactics and laughed at her tantrums and childish insults. So keep laughing, keep refusing to let bigots have a seat at the adult's table. Send a message to them that if they want to be taken seriously, they need to grow up.

Michelle Shocked's self diagnosis

Here are a few posts Michelle puked out a day or so before her account was suspended again. It is common knowledge she doesn't listen to what others say, so obviously she's in no position to be critical of anybody's behavior, not even those of a lunatic she helped to create. What I saw as she posted was an uncanny description of Michelle's own behavior over the last 10 months. If you aren't familiar with how Twitter works, these posts are intended to be read from the bottom to the top.

It would seem Twitter has finally dealt Michelle a permanent suspension. Though that means I'll have fewer opportunities to prove just how whacked out and full of hate she has become, it is the best thing that could have happened to her. Every time she opens her mouth or posts on Twitter, it adds fuel to the fire that ended her career. I won't claim to know what it would take to heal her personal problems, but her chances of rebuilding a career are better if she can avoid making public statements. In the meantime, these posts serve as an excellent summary of who she has become and how far she has to go.

If Michelle Shocked is right and the entire rest of the world is wrong...

... what would it mean?

To begin with, it would mean there is a powerful and massive conspiracy among the engineers and founders of Google, the LGBT community, and mainstream media. However, this vast conspiracy isn't designed to rule Metropolis, collapse world economies, or kill James Bond. This conspiracy exists solely to destroy the career and personal life of Michelle Shocked.

For Michelle to be right, the following needed to take place prior to her concert at Yoshi's:
  • Google engineers had to work tirelessly to delete any recent evidence on the internet of pro-gay statements made by Michelle
  • The gay community had to raise money to buy tickets and recruit an audience to attend (and eventually storm out of) Michelle Shocked's concert
  • Journalists from San Francisco to London had to be standing by to write about a concert given by an obscure folks singer whose last hit record was in a different century
Of course, all of this hinged on Michelle Shocked saying or doing something fundamentally flawed on stage. I mean, had Michelle Shocked only sung songs, there'd have been no hate speech to bootleg. In other words, had she done the job she had been paid to do, no conspiracy could have worked against her. Michelle has a theory about that, too. Michelle, you see, somehow knew about this conspiracy ahead of time. And Michelle hatched her own plan. She decided the best way to entrap those conspiring against her was to do exactly what they all wanted her to do.

Yes, the success of the conspiracy depended on Michelle Shocked walking onto a stage in a gay friendly club in a gay friendly city and openly attacking gays. Michelle Shocked would have to plan, in advance, a series of dogmatically based insults against LGBT. Then, in what Sarah Palin would describe as her "gotcha" moment, Michelle would unleash those hateful words. But if Michelle is right, that isn't the most clever part of Michelle Shocked's ruse.

The clever part is when the world's attention turned to her Twitter feed, she would not immediately reveal the conspiracy. Nor did she bother to mention it when she had multiple opportunities to be interviewed by journalists in and out of the mainstream. No, the clever bit - the bit nobody saw coming - was that she would keep insulting people on Twitter. Michelle verbally abused fans of hers who supported her for 25 years. And when she revealed the conspiracy to her remaining Twitter followers (the ones who hadn't unfollowed or blocked her, the ones she hadn't blocked, the ones who hadn't moved on to other things) she then cleverly continued insulting gays, blacks, Jews, and small sick children dressed as Batman.

Even though she did all of this to show the truth to the world, she deleted more than 6,000 posts on Twitter, making it impossible for any fans or journalists to see what she wanted them to see. She compared herself to Lenny Bruce, but I don't recall Lenny Bruce burning his own records so nobody could hear what he had to say. But if Michelle is right, then she's Lenny Bruce. I guess.
The conspiracy changed as the months dragged on. Suddenly, the conspiracy included YouTube and a woman who posted a video of Michelle speaking between songs at a concert a few years prior to Yoshi's. And just as suddenly the conspiracy was about the stolen intellectual property of all musicians everywhere. Spotify was now named as a coconspirator alongside all bloggers and Margaret Cho and club owners across the United States and Europe. Naturally her former manager had to have been in on the conspiracy as well, as were several of her IRL friends.

If Michelle is right, then the only people who see her rightness are a tutor in Kansas, a wannabe rapist in New Jersey, a homophobe in Hollywood, and two cowards who lack the courage of their convictions to add their real names to their real threats. Everyone else who heard her Yoshi's outbursts thought they were mean-spirited, anti-gay, born-again rhetoric. If Michelle is right, telling her audience to Tweet that God hates f*ggots is a kind thing to say. Telling them that gay marriage will usher in the rapture was sweet.

If Michelle is right, hate speech such as the n-word can be reclassified as art.

If Michelle is right, phrases like "f*ck f*gs" would have to be considered a punchline instead of an insult.

But if Michelle is right, why issue not one but two printed apologies?

And if Michelle is right, why apologize a third time on Piers Morgan's show?

If Michelle is right, why did she state the backlash against her (for something she has stated she planned specifically to cause a backlash and attract attention) is unwarranted?
If Michelle was right, why would she advocate NOT trusting Christians (something she claims to be)?
If Michelle was right, why does she regret wasting the last nine months of her life?
If Michelle was right, why hasn't she proven a single word of what she's claimed? None of her IRL gay or black friends have risen to defend her character. Her church won't publicly stand with her. Interviews she conducted years ago cite her calling herself "the world's greatest homophobe" and include her making anti-gay remark about homosexuality being a sin. Her long-term boyfriend left her a few months ago, but when he was with her he didn't speak out in support of her. Her brother has a Twitter account, but he hasn't come to her defense. If Michelle Shocked is right, wouldn't somebody who knows her come to her aid? In other words, if Michelle is right, her friends, her church, her lover, and her family must also be part of the conspiracy against her.

If you stand by Michelle Shocked, you have to believe all of the above is true and you must have answers for all of the above questions. If you do, please comment below and tell me. Unlike Perrin Blackman's farcical blog of lies, I encourage those who disagree to speak up and offer evidence that supports any of Michelle Shocked's righteousness. Because if Michelle is right, there must be somebody out there who can prove it.
